Experimenting with some creative writing this week! Let me know what you think (be kind 😉 )
In my head My writing soared and plunged and dove It flew In densely hued Alien lands Under a heavy depth of dense black sea it swam Spinning and weaving on a loom of English middle class life On paper It stuttered and started Splattering Stopping Drifting and halting Wandering and wondering Distracted by the every day Mundanities Of work and play And every day So I continue To write mainly in my head Where my imagination stays Unfettered and free No need To pin the butterflies of Fancy and fantasy With the dull iron spike of reality Because In my head I am emancipated from my own Inhibitions And live up to my name. Is it too late to put your name forward for the next Poet Laureate?
A very noble effort, Ellen.

Hi El I think it’s pretty good but isn’t writing poetry a bit like painting – if it’s brought you pleasure and expresses what you wanted to say, isn’t that the mark of ‘good’ or not so ‘good’.
